Mitchell C. Fogel

Founder and President/CEO of The Fogel Law Group

Meet Mitch

The Who:

I am the Founder and President/CEO of The Fogel Law Group (FLG), a 34-year-old law firm with offices located in Boca Raton, Jacksonville, and Orlando, Florida. FLG provides legal counsel and advice regarding lending transactions (particularly in SBA and USDA financing); commercial and residential real estate matters; business opportunities; corporate and other entity formations and operations; and leasing deals. The firm has closed thousands of transactions in Florida and nationally. I am also frequently a speaker and panelist on many local and national real estate, SBA and conventional lending, and business transaction forums.

While raised in Miami, I have lived and worked in Boca Raton since 1994. I attended college at the University of Florida and law school at The George Washington University. I have also taught real estate, finance and business law at various colleges and organizations.

The What:

The 2025 Boca’s Ballroom Battle (BBB). While it’s well known that I love to dance, this is different…MUCH different! This is definitely not Disco, the Macarena, or the Cha Cha Slide! Rather, I’ll be triple-stepping waaaay outside my comfort zone to dance a routine in support of the George Snow Scholarship Fund (GSSF).

The Why:

Having lost my father at a very young age, after a debilitating and costly illness, it was very difficult for me to find the funds I needed to pay for my education. There just weren’t many scholarships and grants available when I was in greatest need of help. And the stress and uncertainty of whether I’d be able to continue my education…while holding multiple jobs…and still do well in school, made that experience very difficult. So, I made it a goal to provide academic scholarships to those in need, which Debi and I have been doing with GSSF for the last 8 years. While working with GSSF, we’ve learned that it not only works with donors to award scholarships, it also provides each scholarship awardee with critical support services that ensure the student succeeds personally, academically, emotionally, and mentally. These additional services require funds over and above the scholarship funds that donors provide and is one of the reasons I am very happy to participate in BBB this year.

Being involved in my community is something I enjoy and have done for years; I strongly believe is among my most important responsibilities. Whether coaching local sports teams, providing mentoring and support to students and professionals, being on the Board of various organizations, establishing a new Rotarian club, serving on the Boca Raton Airport Authority, and founding and leading multiple professional and civic organizations, I have had many opportunities to lead though service…to make a real and positive difference. And I’ve seen many young people I’ve mentored grow, succeed, and pay it forward…what an amazing feeling.

Changing lives for the better will always be my mission. I feel this is my most important legacy. But I’m far from done! There’s much more to do…like this year’s BBB.

The growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership.
