Wednesday, May 24 – Week 4

I had my first lesson with my dance partner! I am excited to show you my dance… on September 23!

Friday, May 19 – End of Week 3

This week, I had my last general membership meeting for the Junior League of Boca Raton and passed the gavel to the new President!! And, I learned what song I will be dancing to!!! But its a secret – so you’ll have to come to Boca’s Ballroom Battle to find out! In addition to dancing, I’ve started working out at Barwis to get into shape for the big dance!

There’s definitely some juggling with real estate, 3 boys, volunteering, working out and dancing, but it’s worth it! I’m honored to be dancing and raising money for this great organization!

Thursday, May 11 – End of Week 2

We got to start partner work! In our 3rd group lesson, we started dancing with each other and it was so much fun! Everyone did a great job, and I am super happy to be experiencing this with all of them while we raise money for an awesome organization doing so much for students in our community.

I had a family trip in Atlanta for 5 days, so I missed the 4th lesson, but I practiced dancing everywhere we went! Here is a picture of me and my husband dancing in the middle of a hike! I’m looking forward to next week!

Friday, April 28 – End of Week 1

Week 1 is in the books! We kicked off with a 4-hour meeting getting to know our fellow dancers and the entire George Snow Scholarship Fund team. They are awesome! I am so excited to work with all of them to make a difference for hundreds of students in our community.

On Tuesday, we had our first group lesson. We learned the four basic steps to ballroom (writing down so I remember!):

1. Walking
2. Sliding
3. Rocking
4. Triple steps

I might be wrong on one of those, but we’re just starting!

On Thursday, we had our second group lesson. We reviewed our quick routine complete with jazzy boxstep, grapevine, and hitchkick. And then we went into turns! We have a long way to go, but it’s going to be a lot of fun.

We got our dance shoes on Tuesday, and I already have blisters! So don’t mind me, if you see me hobbling around! I’ll be ok – and its worth it!

Thank you to everyone who has already donated or committed to donate! I feel so encouraged and grateful!! I can’t wait for Week 2!!
