George M. Petrocelli

Husband. Father. Friend.

Born and raised in Rhode Island (and yes, the accent gives it away!), George Petrocelli moved to South Florida after college to pursue his lifelong passion for culinary arts. Growing up in a large Italian family where life revolved around food, it was only natural for George to find his calling in the kitchen.

Early in his career, George worked at some of the most renowned restaurants and hotels, including the acclaimed Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in California—where he met his wife, Elizabeth. The couple eventually moved to Boca Raton, where they’ve now lived for over 34 years, raising their family and becoming deeply rooted in the community they love.

George continued his career at The Boca Raton as a chef before transitioning into catering and event operations. This role opened the door to countless philanthropic opportunities, allowing George to support a wide range of local causes including Boca Helping Hands, Boys & Girls Clubs, Boca Raton Historical Society, Best Foot Forward, Junior League of Boca Raton, Men Giving Back, and, of course, the George Snow Scholarship Fund.

A man of faith, family, and friendships, George is passionate about creating meaningful experiences—whether that’s through his professional work or hosting gatherings at home with Liz. He and his wife love to travel the world, discovering new cultures and cuisines, and bringing those inspirations back to their kitchen table.

George’s connection with the George Snow Scholarship Fund began over 20 years ago when he met Tim Snow—around the same time they were both nominated as “Sweetheart of the Year” by the Junior League. Inspired by the Fund’s mission and the dedication of its leadership, George knew that when the time was right, he would step up to the challenge of becoming a dancer.

That time is now.

With enthusiasm (and maybe a little hesitation), George said “yes” to this year’s Ballroom Battle, ready to dance in honor of the hardworking students the George Snow Scholarship Fund serves. He believes deeply in its mission: to ensure no student is denied an education because of financial need or lack of support.

One of George’s favorite mottos comes from Habakkuk 1:5: “For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.”

George Petrocelli is ready to dance for something bigger than himself—and he’s doing it with heart, humor, and purpose.
