Dear Friends & Family,

This summer I am participating as a dancer in Boca’s Ballroom Battle to benefit the George Snow Scholarship Fund. This event will take place at The Boca Raton Resort & Club on Friday, August 16, 2013.

I would love for you to join me as I compete not only to win the dance competition, but most importantly the fundraising competition. The George Snow Scholarship Fund has meaningfully improved the lives of more than 1,300 students by providing over 5.4 million dollars in scholarships and educational grants. This year alone the fund will award more than $580,000.00 in scholarships to 80 deserving students.

Please help me to win the coveted “Mirror Ball” trophy for the most money raised. Just click on the green “Donate” button to make your tax-deductible contribution.  Be sure to click on my name as the “Dancer I am Supporting.”

There are three ways to support me:

1-Purchase tickets to attend the big event (The sooner the better, since it sells out quickly!)

2-Place an ad in the event program

3-Make a direct donation

If you have any questions or need assistance in securing tickets or making a donation please call the most capable, kind and organized woman ever, Debi Feiler at (561) 347-6799.

Thank you so much for your support and consideration.

Dorothy’s Bio

Dorothy MacDiarmid has spent the last twenty years as a “professional” volunteer and public relations and political grassroots consultant.  A fourth generation Junior Leaguer and past president of the Junior League of Boca Raton, her League career was bookended by earning the inaugural award for Outstanding First Year Active from the Junior League of Portland, ME and culminating with the Outstanding Sustainer of the Year Award from the Boca League.  Now she has her dancing shoes on with her sights set on the Ballroom Battle mirror ball trophy!

Dorothy has lent her skills in fundraising, advocacy, event planning and organizing to numerous South Florida community organizations including the Boca Raton Historical Society, Delray Beach Public Library, George Snow Scholarship Fund, Gulf Stream School, Impact 100,  IN THE PINES, Inc. and the JLBR Endowment Fund, Inc.

Always up for an adventure, Dorothy has recently shifted her focus from full-time volunteer to innovative entrepreneurship.  A partner in the Cloud 9 Group, an evangelist marketing collaborative, which is still taking shape, and a Rodan + Fields skincare consultant, she brings fun and infinite possibilities to all her projects.  Dorothy loves her new professional focus because she strives to be the best she can be and especially loves helping others reach their highest potential, too.

Dorothy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lynn University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and is raising her three amazing children (Ian, 14, Will, 6 & Clare, 4) in Delray Beach.
