Mike Kaufman

Michael Kaufman brings more than 27 years of construction experience to his role of company president of Kaufman Lynn, Inc. General Contractors. He has led and managed projects ranging from $500,000 – $40 million including, new construction and renovation of educational facilities, healthcare projects, museums/cultural centers, office buildings, institutional facilities, auto dealerships and high rise residential. Notable high profile projects include the construction of the Boca Raton Museum of Art and Art Classroom; the Centre for the Arts Amphitheater at Mizner Park; dozens of projects with Florida Atlantic University; several projects for the School District of Palm Beach County, Pine Crest School, and St. Andrews School; the new Spanish River Library; the newly re-constructed Cartoon Museum project at Mizner Park; two projects with Florida International University, and the new $18.5 million Miramar Cultural Arts Facility.

 

Kaufman is responsible for the daily management of all Kaufman Lynn business activities and management systems, and serves as the project executive on all Kaufman Lynn jobs. In addition, he is actively involved in many construction industry related organizations including the Construction Association of South Florida, Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc (ABC), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and the Florida Educational Facilities Planners Association Inc. (FEFPA). 

 

Recently, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award and selected as a 2008 Ultimate CEO for Palm Beach County from the South Florida Business Journal.  In addition, Kaufman Lynn was awarded the 2005 Business of the Year by the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, 2005 General Contractor of the Year from the American Institute of Architects — from both the Palm Beach and Miami chapters, and 2003 Business of the Year: Real Estate & Construction $10 million+ from the South Florida Business Journal.

 

Actively involved in the community, Kaufman serves as the Vice Chair of the Florida Atlantic University Foundation Board (a board member since 2005), and donates his time and support to dozens of local community and nonprofit organizations, including the George Snow Scholarship Fund, Boca Raton Centre for the Arts, Boys and Girls Clubs, Boca Raton Museum of Art, Boy Scouts of America, Boca Raton Educational Television (BRET), etc.  After completing projects for both the Junior League of Boca Raton and Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Kaufman Lynn returned 100% of the money saved on the projects to both owners.

Kaufman earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida, M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction. He is a Certified General Contractor in the State of Florida. Born in Bethpage, New York, Kaufman has called South Florida home for the past 36 years.
